The momentous meeting of the phenomenal on-screen love team of Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza, worldwidely known as ALDub, has finally come with the blessing of Lola Nidora played by Wally Bayola last October 24. This time there were no restrictions set.
The “Tamang Panahon” event started at 10am but aired live at 11:30am for over three hours with no commercial interruption.
Maine first arrived onboard a jeepney. She performed a dance number. Afterwards, a multimedia presentation about her road to success was flashed on screen.
Alden rode a car going to the arena with a box full of red roses for Maine.
Alden and Yaya Dub met halfway on stage, seeming like a fairy tale moment. The arena let out exhilarated cheers. Some could not hold back tears of joy for the two.
Alden sang the love team’s theme song "God Gave Me You” by Bryan White, dedicating it to the AlDub Nation and to Maine who was beside him throughout the performance.
"Maine, ang tagal kong hinintay 'tong chance na 'to, to say that God gave me you. Ang layo na rin narating natin. Dalawang taong naghahanap, and finally nagkita na rin. Salamat sa'yo," Alden thanked Maine, hugging her tight.
"Alden, thank you. Alam mo pinagdasal ko talaga ang araw na ito. Ganun din naman yung gusto kong sabihin sa iyo, God gave me you," Maine tells Alden, face to face. "Ang dami ng nagbago sa buhay natin, ang dami ng nangyari, pero may mga bagay pa din na hindi magbabago. Isa doon, ikaw at ako."
The love team joked around and exchanged goofy faces while having their first dance to the tune of “God Gave Me You.”
Also present during the event were "Kalyeserye" segment's characters, Lola Nidora, Duhrizz (Wally Bayola), Lola Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros) and Lola Tinidora, Frankie Arenolli (Jose Manalo).
Meanwhile, Lola Nidora still reminded the Alden and Maine to take time getting to know each other.
"Gusto ko magkakilala muna kayong mabuti. Maging magkaibigan. Hindi ko naman hahawakan ang tibok ng puso ninyo. Ipangako ninyo sa akin na hindi ninyo sisirain ang tiwalang binigay sa inyo ng mga Lola," she said.
Fans of the fast-rising loveteam filled the Phillipine Arena in Bulacan, the largest indoor arena in the world which can accommodate a capacity of 55,000 people.
One hundred percent of the proceeds of the said event will go to AlDub Library Project alloted on the rehabilitation of the libraries of three elementary schools.
In just three months the trending Kalyeserye tandem of ALDub, marked another record in the history of Eat Bulaga and the social media.
As of 11:15pm, #ALDubEBTamangPanahon breached 39 million tweets breaking their previous 25.6 million tweet record and claiming the first spot in the trends list of Philippines and worldwide. The Millennial Post
