The Alden Richards-Maine ‘Yaya Dub’ Mendoza or the ‘AlDub’ tandem has been continuously talked about in the world of social media, especially on Twitter, with their viewers and fans expressing their excitement over the tandem’s chemistry.
Eat Bulaga has considered the tandem their golden gem in television ratings after they smashed the viewership in Mega Manila.
Since the supposed wedding of Yaya Dub and ‘Frankie,’ another character portrayed by Jose Manalo, on Aug. 22, each episode’s ‘hash tag’ has been on the move, and has posted millions of tweets every day, continuously showing the audience’s power over different support to the “accidentally-found”, says the two main characters, love team.
On September 5, the much awaited first time face-to-face meeting of Alden and Yaya Dub paved the way for another record, the episode’s hashtag, #ALDUBBattleForACause, set a new record on Twitter— garnering 5.79 Million tweets and being the number one Trending Topic both in the Philippines and worldwide.
Moreover, the same episode’s rating was at 39.5%, almost reaching the ratings of the Pacquiao- Mayweather fight last May with a solidified 44.4%. The Millennial Post
