Angelica Jane Yap, AKA the “Pastillas Girl” is ABS-CBN’s ‘It’s Showtime’s’ answer to GMA’s record breaking ‘kalyeserye’ tandem, “AlDub”.
Eat Bulaga has been dominating TV ratings ever since the accidental love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza (Yaya Dub) shot to fame, with a rating of 32.1% and 8% for their rival, and this “Pastillas Girl” might be the Kapamilyas’ new bet.
Angelica Yap became known because of her viral video about how to make Pastillas but with “bitterness” by relating it with her previous relationship.
She was introduced for the first time last September 11 on Vice Ganda’s segment “Madam Bertud” on the Kapamilya noontime show, “It’s Showtime,” where she shared the story of how her ex-boyfriend fell in love with her best friend, which is the reason behind the production of her viral video.
Angelica appeared on the show again last Monday, September 14, and is now making talks about finding her “Pastillas Boy.”
Yap’s segment on ‘It’s Showtime’ enraged most users of two of the most popular social media sites, Facebook and Twitter. Comments indicate that aside from her bitterness, her ill manners and pretentiousness made them choose Eat Bulaga’s love team instead.
However, given the ratings and level of popularity “AlDub” has garnered, it might take more than a heartbreak story of a “Pastillas Girl” to win over the former’s millions of loyal fans. The Millennial Post
