A total of 30 senatorial aspirants filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) earlier at the Palacio del Gobernador in Intramuros, Manila.
Sen. Sergio “Serge” Osmena III, 71, submitted his COC application at the headquarters of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), seeking for another term in the Senate as an independent candidate.
Former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, 56, also formalized her bid to run for senator, representing the Liberal Party.
Atty. Lorna Kapunan, 63, running under Aksyon Demokratiko, went to the headquarters to file her senatorial candidacy. She represented the pork barrel mastermind Janet Napoles.
Sandra Cam, 55, president of the Whistle Blowers’ Association, also filed her COC to run for senator.
Other aspirants who seek to run for senator include: Alvin Bersales, Robert De Castro,Hernando Bruce, Nariman Ambolodto, Allan Montano, Cresente Paez, Jay Angelique Jaafar, Ephraim David, Celedonio Ompad, Rey Dorona, Pol Bulilan, Tony Ompa, Tony Boy Aquino, Teofisto Guingona III, Fausto Cabantac, Bethsaida Lopez, Yusoph Mando, Floresca Leto, Habib Adz Nikabulin, Rosauro Revilla, Elizabeth del Rio Martinez, Rosalinda Dacanay, Arturo Remo, Nicandro Pitos, Mary Lou Estrada, Amado Combate.
